Youth Group to Start Sexuality Education Program called "Our Whole Lives" (OWL)

Headwaters Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Youth Group will be participating in the comprehensive sexuality education program called
"Our Whole Lives."  This program is led by the wife/husband team of Carolyn Towler and Darin Miller.  Carolyn and Darin attended extensive training for this program in Lawrence, Kansas in August 2011, and are certified sexuality educators for grades 7-12.  The curriculum was designed by United Church of Christ and the Unitarian Universalist Association.  It is used by many denominations and secular organizations throughout the U.S.  We are opening up this program to all youth in the community in grades 7-12.

If you would like your child to participate, or aren't sure, please attend the  parent meeting on Monday night, December 5, 2011 from 6 - 8 pm or Wednesday night, December 7 from 6-8 pm at Headwaters Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 522 America Ave, Bemidji, MN.  We can reschedule the parent meeting if several are interested but cannot attend.  Attendance at a parent meeting is mandatoryfor youth to attend the OWL program.

The youth will be separated into grades 7-9 and grades 10-12.   The first 7-9 grade OWL youth meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sunday January 8, 2012 at 1:30 pm.  The first 10-12 grade OWL youth meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday January 4, 2012 at 6:30 pm.  We are willing to adjust these days and times to accommodate participating families' schedules.

Please call Carolyn at 218-760-3681 or Darin at 218-368-6157 or email us at darolyn1@paulbunyan.net  by Friday December 2, 2011 if you are interested in attending the parent meeting.
